Poem Summary 

All things bright and beautiful,All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colours,

ABOUT THE POET

Cecil Frances Alexander was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1818. She is a famous hymn writer and poet. Her famous works are ‘Hymn for Children’, ‘Christmas Carol’, ‘Once in Royal David’s City’, ‘Verses for Holy Season’. This poem is included in ‘Hymn for Children’.

କବି କହୁଛନ୍ତି ଯେ ଭଗବାନ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଥିବା ସବୁ ଜିନିଷ ଉଜ୍ଜ୍ୱଳ ଏବଂ ସୁନ୍ଦର ଅଟେ | ସବୁ ପ୍ରାଣୀ ସାନ ଆଉ ମହାନ ଅଟନ୍ତି | ସମସ୍ତ ଜିନିଷ ଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଆଉ ମହାନ ଅଟେ | ଏସବୁ ଭଗବାନ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଛନ୍ତି |

ଦ୍ଵିତୀୟ ପଦରେ କବି କହୁଛନ୍ତି , ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଛୋଟ ଫୁଲକୁ ଭଗବାନ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ରଙ୍ଗ ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ଆଉ ଗାଉଥିବା ଛୋଟ ପକ୍ଷୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭଗବାନ ଛୋଟ ଡେଣା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି |

ବାଇଗଣୀ ରଙ୍ଗର ପର୍ବତ ଉପରେ ମେଘମାଳ, ବହିଯାଉଥିବା ନଦୀ , ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟାସ୍ତ ଓ ସକାଳ ଏ ସବୁକୁ ଭଗବାନ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଛନ୍ତି ଆଉ ଏ ସବୁ ଉଜ୍ଜ୍ୱଳ ଦେଖାଯାଆନ୍ତି |

ଶୀତ ଦିନର ଥଣ୍ଡା ପବନକୁ ଭଗବାନ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଛନ୍ତି  ଏବଂ  ଗ୍ରୀଷ୍ମର    ଆନନ୍ଦଦାୟକ   ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟକୁ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଛନ୍ତି | 

( ଇଂଲଣ୍ଡରେ ଗ୍ରୀଷ୍ମ ଋତୁ ବସନ୍ତ ଋତୁ ଭଳିଆ ହୋଇଥାଏ | ବସନ୍ତ ଋତୁରେ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟର ପ୍ରକୋପ ନ ଥାଏ | ତେଣୁ ଏଠାରେ ଗ୍ରୀଷ୍ମର ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟକୁ ଆନନ୍ଦଦାୟକ ବୋଲି କୁହାଯାଇଛି ) ବଗିଚାରେ ଥିବା ଫଳ ଗଛରେ ଫଳ ପାଚିଯାଇଛି ଏବଂ ଯାହାକୁ ଆମେ ଖାଇବୁ | ଏସବୁ ଭାଗବାନ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଛନ୍ତି |

ସବୁଜ ପଡ଼ିଆରେ ଥିବା ଲମ୍ବା ଗଛ ସବୁକୁ ଭଗବାନ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଛନ୍ତି | ଆମେ ଯେଉଁ ପଡ଼ିଆରେ ଖେଳୁ ତାହା ମଧ୍ୟ ଭଗବାନଙ୍କସୃଷ୍ଟି | ସମସ୍ତେ ବୋହିଯାଉଥିବା ନଦୀ ପାଖରେ ଏକତ୍ରିତ ହୋଇଥାନ୍ତି ନଳତୃଣ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରିବା  ପାଇଁ | (ଯେଉଁଥିରୁ ମସିଣା ବୁଣାଯାଏ ତାହାକୁ ନଳତୃଣ କୁହାଯାଏ |)

ଭଗବାନ ଆମକୁ ଆଖି ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ତାଙ୍କଦ୍ୱାରା ନିର୍ମିତ ସମସ୍ତ ଉଜ୍ଜ୍ୱଳ ଏବଂ ସୌନ୍ଦର୍ଯ୍ୟପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବସ୍ତୁକୁ ଦେଖିବା ପାଇଁ | ସେ ଆମକୁ ଓଠ ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ତାଙ୍କର ଗୁଣ ଗାନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ | ସର୍ବଶକ୍ତିମାନ ଭଗବାନ ଆମ  ପାଇଁ ଏହି ମୂଲ୍ୟବାନ ଜିନିଷ ତିଆରି କରିଥିବାରୁ ବାସ୍ତବରେ ସେ ମହାନ ଅଟନ୍ତି |

Explanation In English

The poet says that everything God created is bright and beautiful All creatures are small and great Everything is wise and great God created all this.

In the second verse, the poet says, God has given each little flower a different color and God has given small wings to the little birds that sing.

Clouds, streams, sunsets and mornings on the purple mountains are all created by God and all of them look radiant.

God created the cold winds of winter and created the joyful sun of summer. (In England the summer season is like the spring season. The sun is calm in the spring season. So here the summer sun is said to be happy.) The fruit in the garden is ripe in the tree and which we will eat. God created all this

God created all the tall trees on the green field The field we play in is also God's creation Everyone gathers near the river to collect the weeds (From which the mat is sown)

God has given us eyes to see all the bright and beautiful things made by Him. He has given us lips to sing His praises He is truly great because the Almighty God created these precious things for us.
