Poem-
Honey child, honey child, whither are you going? Would you cast your jewels all to the breezes blowing? Would you leave the mother who on golden grain has fed you? Would you grieve the lover who is riding forth to wed you?
Mother mine, to the wild forest I am going,
Where upon the champa boughs the champa buds are blowing;
To the koil-haunted river-isles where lotus lilies glisten,
The voices of the fairy folk are calling me: O listen!
Honey child, honey child, the world is full of pleasure,
Of bridal-songs and cradle-songs and sandal- scented leisure.
Your bridal robes are in the loom, silver and saffron glowing,
Your bridal cakes are on the hearth: O whither are you going?
The bridal-songs and cradle-songs have cadences of sorrow,
The laughter of the sun to-day, the wind of death to-morrow.
Far sweeter sound the forest-notes where forest- streams are falling;
O mother mine, I cannot stay, the fairy-folk are calling.

English Explain:-
In this poem, feminist Sarojini Naidu describes the mother and the daughter who is going to get married. Her mother stopped her while the girl was going to hide in the forest without getting married. The mother asked her daughter, "Where are you going? Are you really going to throw away your jewelry? Are you going to leave the mother who fed you on the golden plate? When you leave, what will happen to the bridegroom who is coming to marry you?"
The girl went to explain to her mother, "I'm going to the forest. There are champa flowers in the champa tree branch. Lotus flowers and lilies are blossoming on the island in the middle of the river. And there the fairies are calling me."
The mother explained to her daughter, "This world is full of happiness. What a joy to have wedding songs and doli songs! Your wedding dress is allowed to be woven. In that dress she designed gold and silver. The wedding cake is being made. Are you leaving all this and going to the forest?"
The girl said, "There is sadness in the wedding song and the doli song. The one who laughs today will die tomorrow. So it is better to sing the song of nature. The chant of Koil and the sound of the stream and the call of the fairies are all very beautiful."
